Though the description indicates "not for slamming", the blue 5 lb. ball is "fantastic" for slamming against a cement wall, i.e., transverse movement training, extremely valuable for tennis players. I actually prefer the smaller size vs. the traditional larger med balls. Though one must, of course, stand closer to the wall, the advantage is less rebound and more control, which translates to throwing the ball harder. Yes, it will rebound back just enough to safely catch. Another advantage is faster throwing/catching cadence. Also, the med ball holds-up well. I don't see any damage or indication of it breaking. Oh, and using it to shot-put is great for practicing tennis serve mechanics. More tennis specific drills with this med ball can be used, but I've written enough :)
